UNIQUE PICNIC OVER A HUGE WATERFALL ONLY COSTS USD$495
They booked the experience through local adventure firm Rota Aventura, which describes it as “a non-traditional picnic in the middle of the most beautiful waterfall there is.” The breathtaking experience has gone viral, thanks to a short clip posted by an American couple who found it while looking for special things to try in Brazil.
In the video, Christianna Hurt and her boyfriend can be seen casually enjoying some snacks and glasses of red wine on a picnic table hanging under a cable arrangement, high above the Cascata da Sepultura river. The whole experience apparently lasts only a short time but costs a whopping USD $495. It is definitely pricey but still something you will never forget...if you live.
Thrillseeker Ms Hurt, who had gone cliff-jumping just the day before, as part of the couple’s tour of South America, swears she was not frightened by the picnic. On the contrary, the high-flying experience was “a piece of cake” for the couple, she says.
“It is only about a 15-minute experience total, but it is more about the scenery, not the food,” Ms Hurt said, adding that she and her partner had to drive a four-by-four SUV to get to the area of the waterfall, which is about an hour’s drive from the nearest town. Then, the couple had to wade through a river to reach the dining site, a zip-line platform built into the edge of the waterfall.
The two were strapped into safety harnesses and seated at a picnic table secured to a sturdy zip line. The table was then rolled out beside the thundering waterfall where the couple unpacked the food and drinks. A photo op and drone video were also included in the price of the experience.
Despite the incredible location, most of the thousands of people commenting online about the video admitted that they would be too busy panicking to enjoy the picnic.
This is not the only nail-biting experience at the waterfall offered by Rota Aventura. You can also lie in a hammock over the waterfall or try a “pendulum” bungee-jump experience. Whoopee!
