WHERE’S COOPER?
It happened Saturday night at the Vetta Sports Soccerdome in the US state of Missouri.
Two-year-old Cooper King likes cars, candy, and plastic balls, especially those found in claw machines.
“If people knew my son Cooper, they would totally understand that he would do something like this,” said Megan King, Cooper’s mother. “I glanced over there, and he was pretend-playing with the claw machine.”
Then, she looked away for 15 seconds but heard someone shout “Cooper!” and point toward the machine.
According to Cooper’s family, the little guy got himself into trouble while they were watching his older brother play soccer.
Somehow, Cooper climbed into the claw machine and was having the time of his life.
“He was laughing, throwing balls everywhere. We were like, ‘Cooper, try and go back down.’ And he was shaking his head “No,’” Megan said.
She said that her boy was stuck in the machine for about 20 minutes but did not seem fazed.
“They are still so young. And, as much as … I was somewhat embarrassed, I was like, ‘You know what? He is safe. He is fine. He is having a good time. This is going to be a big laugh down the road,'” Ms King said.
The focus then turned to how to get him out. So, Cooper’s family called 911.
“Webster Groves Fire Department and a police officer showed up within five minutes,” Megan said.
Eventually, someone from the claw-machine vending company showed up with a key and freed Cooper from his private playground.
Delighted onlookers snapped pictures of Cooper while he was inside the machine, and those images have since gone viral on social media.
“I did not think that it was going to go this big,” Megan said.
One of the comments from an online fan that caught her attention was a viewer asking why she did not use the claw to lift Cooper out.
“I was going to comment back that I did not have enough change since he used it all,” she said.
“In today's world, everyone needs something funny, and what is not funny about a two-year-old playing in a claw machine,” laughed Mama Megan.
So, Cooper got away with it without punishment? Watch out, Megan.
